This boat design is the successor to our long-standing and extremely successful eight shape 86 and thus covers the same weight range from 85 kg to 100 kg.

The new 80 is designed with some of the same modern elements as our latest eight shapes 89, 87, and 88. 
The new 80 is slightly smaller in size as also 8 cm shorter and 1 mm narrower in the waterline than the 88 but larger than the 87. 
The lines of the new 80 have been narrowed from the center to the stern to create a little more boat movement at rowing in order to give the stroke seat a better feeling for the boat's movement. 
For the first time, a complete simulation of the boat's motion was created during the design of the 80, based on biomechanical measurements. 
In that simulation, the new eight 80 proved to be our fastest eight design developed to date. 

The drilling width of the new 80 is identical to that of the 89, 87, and 88.
