After careful consideration, we decided to focus on calf space and comfort. The result is our new CALF RECESSES!

The new calf recesses are an excellent addition to our range and improve the rowing experience in 2-/2x, 4-/4x/4+ and 8+ boats. In single sculls, the calf recess will not be implemented at first due to the already adapted seat deck.

The calf recess adjustment means that the back of the knee no longer comes into contact with the seat deck.
This newly gained space allows the rower to extend their stroke towards the bow on the tracks. This is achieved by pushing through the legs more effectively.
This optimized leg position also improves the seating position and can lead to better tension in the rower's torso.

A positive side effect is that gluing the calf recess profile into the hull increases the torsional strength of the hull shell.

Availability and ordering possibilities

From now on, calf recesses are included in our 2-/2x, 4-/4x/4+ and 8+ High Performance Edition models.
In addition, we will offer calf recesses in combination with our Textremdecks.
In the future, calf recesses will therefore be included either in the Textremdecks or the High Performance Edition.
For new orders placed on or after March 16, 2026, the calf recesses will be installed as standard in boats with High Performance equipment and Textreme decks.

In the coming weeks, we will contact our customers who have already placed orders for boats but to whome we can still offer the option of making this upgrade.
